In traditional Chinese practice, this formula focuses on relieving hesitant or difficult urination and supporting a smoother flow. It is suitable when urination becomes slow, weak, intermittent, effortful or feels obstructed. Such sensations often arise from prolonged sitting, low water intake, humid weather or frequently holding in urine, which can cause the lower body to feel heavy and congested and lead to a sense of “blockage, poor flow or incomplete emptying” when urinating. Overall, this formula emphasises easing obstruction and promoting a more comfortable and continuous urinary flow.
 
Selection Tip: Ba Zheng San Wan (Octo form) focuses more on “clearing heat and easing acute discomfort,” suitable for situations where internal heat is stronger and urination feels more irritated. San Jin Qing Lin Wan (Octo Form) focuses more on “relieving blockage and supporting a smooth flow,” suitable for slow, hesitant or incomplete urination. If urination is mainly characterised by heat, pain and urgency, with deep-coloured urine or a heavy feeling in the lower abdomen, Ba Zheng San Wan may be preferred. If the main experience is difficulty starting, a weak or intermittent stream, a sense of blockage or incomplete emptying, San Jin Qing Lin Wan may be considered instead.
