In traditional Chinese medicine, this formula is used to clear heat and toxins, cool the blood, relieve itching, and promote blood circulation to eliminate stasis. It is suitable for conditions caused by intense heat in the blood and damp-heat pathogens, which manifest as skin itching, red rashes or wheals, acute eczema, oozing lesions, swelling, and pain. According to TCM theory, such skin issues result from "excess heat in the blood with wind and damp-toxins," and they correspond to modern medical conditions such as acute eczema and allergic dermatitis. This formula is recommended during the acute phase when symptoms such as sudden onset, severe itching, redness, and oozing are prominent.
 
Selection Tip: If the skin shows redness, heat, swelling, or slight oozing with clear inflammation, consider Pi Fu Bing Xue Du Wan (Skin Care Form) to clear heat, cool the blood, and reduce swelling. If itching is intense, worsens with warmth, and rashes recur, consider Xiao Feng San Wan (Lay Wind Form) to dispel wind, relieve itching, and clear dampness. If damp-heat has not fully resolved and flare-ups return in cycles, consider Qing Du Zhi Yang Wan (Calm Skin Form) for steadier control. If the condition has lasted a long time, the skin is easily irritated, and itching is more noticeable at night, consider Pi Min Xiao Wan (Skin Form) to support constitution adjustment and calm the skin. For external care, Blue Skin Multi-Purpose Dermocream or Fu De Kang Ruan Gao (Dermacura Cream) may be used to ease local redness and itching and support skin repair.
