It addresses what TCM describes as “excess fire rising and internal heat accumulation,” referring to conditions where internal heat and toxins are well established and symptoms are strong and persistent. It is intended for short-term use by individuals with pronounced heat patterns. Compared to Lian Qiao Bai Du Wan, this formula targets a more advanced stage of internal heat, focusing on clearing fire through bowel detoxification. Lian Qiao Bai Du Wan, by contrast, is more suitable for the early stage of external wind-heat with milder symptoms and emphasizes releasing the exterior.
