In traditional Chinese medicine, this formula is used to release the exterior, dispel cold, transform dampness, and harmonize the middle. It is suitable for symptoms of wind-cold type colds with internal dampness, such as heavy head and body, chills and fever, nasal congestion, cough, bloating, nausea, poor appetite, and loose stools. Commonly used to address the condition known in TCM as “external cold with internal dampness,” this formula is particularly helpful when colds are accompanied by gastrointestinal discomfort or when mild digestive upset occurs due to unclean food, climate changes, or exposure to damp environments.
