In traditional Chinese medicine, this formula is used to quickly relieve constipation and expel internal heat, aiming to restore normal bowel movements. It is suitable for short-term stagnation of Qi and accumulation of internal heat, such as cases involving food retention and pronounced heat accumulation. Typical symptoms include difficulty in defecation, dry and hard stools, abdominal distension and pain, irritability, thirst, and thick yellow tongue coating. The formula works primarily by purging heat, promoting bowel movement, and eliminating stagnation. It is not suitable for individuals with constipation due to deficiency or cold-damp obstruction.
